Cardiothoracic Surgery Inpatient Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantJob SummaryThe Inpatient Cardiothoracic Surgery Service Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, residents, fellows, and RNs providing ICU and acute care services to patients and families. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent and collaborative patient management throughout the continuum of inpatient care from admission to the CT ICU through discharge to the outpatient setting. This position provides a faculty appointment in the Department of Surgery. Minimum Qualifications:1.Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP2.Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant Program3.Current and valid state PA license4.Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA5.Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment6.Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of patients undergoing Cardiothoracic Surgical procedures.7.ACLS Certification8.Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing9.Basic computer knowledge and command of basic personal computer skillsDesirable Qualifications:1.Experience as an APP of 3-5 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred2.Experience as an APP of 1 year in Cardiothoracic ICU preferred3.Experience implementing comprehensive evidence based practice guidelinesJob Duties and Responsibilities:1.Work on a dedicated cardiothoracic inter-professional team with other established APPs, critical care physicians from the Divisions of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Anesthesia, Cardio thoracic surgeons, and Mechanical Circulatory support providers. 2.Perform bedside ICU and Acute Car procedures3.Provide a full spectrum of care for Cardiothoracic patients 4.Participate in the education of nursing staff and surgical residents5.Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery6.Performs other related duties as requiredPlease submit your cover letter and CV to:Jean M.
