This LPN position will provide support for the Department of Otolaryngology. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs delegated clinical and administrative duties within the supervising physician\u2019s scope of practice consistent with the LPN\u2019s education, training, and demonstrated competency. This position is responsible for evaluating current diagnostic information, ordering diagnostic tests with the coordination and approval from physician, conducts telephone triage for lab/symptom assessment, assist with patient education, and provide assistance to physician during in-office procedures. This includes taking and recording vital signs, updating allergy & medication lists, preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment and scopes, and assist providers when instructed. The LPN recognizes and addresses age-appropriate needs when caring for patients. In addition, the LPN assists in maintaining the practice environment in a clean, orderly condition. Functions as an integral member of the Department by contributing to new ideas for improving customer service and reducing costs. The LPN will be flexible and able to float to all divisions in Otolaryngology when needed. Including, providing back up support to the Thyroid and Parathyroid Center by evaluating current diagnostic information, ordering diagnostic tests with the coordination and approval from physician, conducts telephone triage for lab/symptom assessment, information, therapeutic intervention, and appropriate follow-up for patients; coordinate all I-131 tests and ensure patients are scheduled, educated and prepared for test and communicate scheduled tests via email to all departments involved in I-131 testing.
