Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Iowa Soybean Research Center (ISRC) is seeking applications for a 1/2 time Communications Specialist III position. This position provides communication support to further the mission of the Iowa Soybean Research Center (ISRC).
The Communications Specialist is responsible for preparing a quarterly e-newsletter, writing press releases, progress reports, research reports, grant proposals, non-technical proposals, brochures and other marketing materials, taking photographs, managing the ISRC’s website, and developing a social media presence for the center.
The successful candidate will have significant creative ability and will be self-motivated and possess outstanding writing, editing, and researching ability. Additionally, the candidate will have excellent judgement and decision-making skills, along with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. The incumbent will be able to work both independently and part of a team.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in website development and design and in working with IT and/or outside vendors to create websites
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
Experience which demonstrates photography and video production skills
Experience working with content management systems
Experience in higher education and agriculture
Editing, desktop publishing, or graphic design experience
