Lindenwood University invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month faculty position as an assistant/associate professor of exercise science in the School of Health Sciences starting in August 2019.
This nine-month faculty position will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Exercise Science and Graduate Health Sciences core curriculums. Possible areas may include: Research Methods, Exercise Physiology (graduate & undergraduate), Exercise for Diseased Populations, Strength and Conditioning, Biomechanics, and Sports Nutrition. Experience serving and chairing graduate thesis committees is preferred. Courses are offered during the day, evening, and online.
Qualifications required for effective job performance. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
Doctorate degree in Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or related field from an accredited institution
Active membership and involvement in an exercise science related professional organizations
An established diverse record of effective teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
Documented evidence of professional service contributions
Record of/or potential to develop a research agenda and interest in supporting existing efforts leading to an active student-centered scholarship program resulting in national presentations, peer-reviewed publications and the procurement of external funding
Three (3) years or more of professional experience in exercise science or a related field preferred
Certification in an exercise science related certification preferred (i.e., ACSM or NSCA)
Experience serving on and chairing graduate theses committees is preferred
