Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity available for a full-time PROGRAM COORDINATOR to work in our Professional Development & Nursing Excellence Department. The Program Coordinator provides oversight for the inpatient educational program for the Clinical Education department. This program encompasses the coordination of 30+ courses, a multitude of in-services, working with 30 educators to serve up to 1,300 nurses. The Program Coordinator requires ability to exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and regulations, independently advise students, staff and/or the public regarding program content, policies, procedures and activities; selects/recommends alternative courses of actions. The Program Coordinator will provide administrative assistance with monthly staff orientations, process staff educational registrations and reimbursements, track data in multiple highly complex databases, run technical reports and perform advanced complex word processing. The Program Coordinator will independently process and deposit funds and cost center transfers; and assist in the preparation of financial reporting. The Program Coordinator will update the HMC SumTotal LMS with both internal and external course offerings. Other key functions of the position include:
Independently coordinate all administrative oversight for the clinical education inpatient educational requests
Prepare, modify and update educational documentation
Assist, in cooperation with the other staff, in the preparation of monthly course schedules.
Oversight of complex educational software programs
Providing information and advice to staff, instructors and students regarding the inpatient education program
Teams with educators/clinicians in order to advance the inpatient education program REQUIREMENTS High school graduate or equivalent - AND - Two (2) years of experience in the program specialty -OR- Equivalent education/experience may be substituted DESIREDExperience with Microsoft Office products. Effective communication and service excellence skills. Complex clerical and database knowledge/skill using a variety of different software. Basic audiovisual equipment operation expertise.
