The 4NE nursing staff provides excellent nursing care to those medical/surgical patients who are acutely ill and in varying stages of recuperation from diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical intervention. The nursing staff delivers specialized care for patients requiring the skill and knowledge for the general surgery, thoracic surgery, neuroscience (medical and surgical) and otolaryngology patient populations. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Typical duties include: assisting patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment of care, preparing patients for surgery, close observation of confused patients, transportation, maintenance of equipment and supplies and clerical tasks. Patient Care Technician provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse. Typical duties include assisting patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment of care, preparing patients for surgery, close observation of confused patients, transportation, maintenance of equipment and supplies, and clerical tasks. PCTs may serve in several roles, including, Constant Observer and General Unit PCT.
