Job Summary The E. J. Hong Lab works on the molecular, synaptic, and circuit mechanisms governing odor-driven behaviors in the fruit fly Drosophila. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and independent individual to work on projects focused on the developmental origins of wiring specificity in the olfactory system. Methods include fly genetics, neuroanatomy, live imaging, and single-cell transcriptional analysis. The candidate should enjoy doing team-based work and value collaborating in a dynamic and diverse research environment.
Job Duties - Designing and executing wet bench experiments independently. - Basic care and maintenance of laboratory equipment. - Clear documentation of experimental methods and results. - Authors and communicates results and presents findings in journals, scientific organizations or conferences.
Basic Qualifications - B.S. degree required. - 5+ years of wet bench molecular biology experience. - Ability to manage and troubleshoot projects independently. - Good written and oral communication skills in English, including the careful maintenance of experimental records.
Preferred Qualifications - Ph.D.in molecular/cell biology, genetics, or biochemistry. - Proven record of productivity, as demonstrated by a consistent record of peer-reviewed publication. - Enjoys collaborative work in diverse team environments.
