Essential Job Duties:
The primary focus of the position is the advising of F-1 and J-1 students and J-1 scholars as well as hosting departments according to our liaison model. International Student and/or Scholar Services: (90%)
Carry out all delegated international student advising processes (form issuance, educational information, travel and immigration advice, review and verification of data, authorization or recommendation of appropriate benefits, e.g., employment), under the supervision and direction of OIS leadership.
Complete, process, and issue visa certificates for F & J students (or scholars); sign documents for travel, replace or re-issue documents when needed, process program extensions as well as changes in level or curriculum, and other F/J issues.
Advise Faculty, Advisors, and Department personnel (Graduate Secretaries, Personnel Coordinators, etc.) in matters related to international student or scholar processing, eligibility requirements, process issues, opportunities, problems, etc. Serve as a college liaison for specific college populations (including students, scholars, interns, faculty, and staff).
Maintain accurate records and files on international students and scholars (stay current with file updates in database), update values in relevant data systems; return files upon task completion.
