Housing and Food Services (HFS) is pleased to announce an opening for a HR Specialist-Recruiter. HFS provides on-campus housing and dining to over 7,800 student residents each year. We employ over 1,200 classified, professional staff and student staff members who work throughout HFS, providing residential and dining services to the campus. Consult and collaborate with hiring managers in planning and executing recruitments.
Work collaboratively with University Human Resources staff in posting jobs and monitoring recruitments in the University's applicant tracking system. Track new hires through the first six months of employment.
Ensure candidate engagement with HFS and unit-level mission and values.
Monitor recruiting plan deliverables and proactively refer/discuss potential delays with supervisor.
Create and maintain documentation specified by the University and HFS for each position.
In-service new managers on recruitment and onboarding policies and procedures through the completion of the first six months of new hire employment.General Human Resources Responsibilities
Serve as the liaison with employees and hiring managers regarding performance during the first six months of employment.
Advise managers on labor contract interpretation and state and local labor laws and ordinances.
Work collaboratively on a variety of projects requiring knowledge and understanding of human resources, including compliance, employee relations and organizational development.
Create, administer and present training.
Represent HFS Human Resources on unit-level and cross-functional teams and projects.Office and Systems Support
Participate in continuous improvement of systems managed and/or supported by HFS Human Resources, including Student Employment Application, Humanity and the Training Tracker Database.
Manage and maintain accurate content of Recruitment information in Sharepoint, Google Drive and Office 365.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in education, human resources or other related field, and two years of experience in human resources, that includes two years of combined experience in recruitment, employee relations, collective bargaining agreement interpretation, employment law and training. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for requirements.Condition of Employment:
A satisfactory outcome from the reference check process and education verification. This position will work a Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm schedule, but flexibility is required to work additional hours as needed to accomplish goals and meet timelines.The salary range is $4800 - $5150/month + benefits.Posted until filled.
