Teaching Associate – Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant
The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiac Surgery team at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) in Seattle, WA. This position will provide a faculty appointment at the rank of Teaching Associate in the Department of Surgery, on a twelve month service period, with an anticipated start date of June 1 or soon thereafter. UWMC is operated by the University of Washington and serves as a training site for the UW School of Medicine. This position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package. The successful candidate for this position will be an assistant for cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, to include complete vein harvest using open and endoscopic techniques, and management of patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings under the general supervision of our physicians.
Graduate degree from an accredited PA program
Current and valid Washington State PA license
NCCPA certified or eligible
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Endoscopic vein harvesting
