Description The Vice President of Information Technology Services (VPITS) will lead Bellevue College's ongoing commitment to support and promote the strategic use of information technology that advances the overall mission of the college. Reporting to the President, the VPITSwill lead and manage the Information Technology Services division, including computer and networking support, technology support services for instruction students services and general administration.The VPITShas final responsibility for the integration of the State operated ERP with all college administrative and instruction, and support functions. The VPITSwill support the technology needs for continuing education, online and distance education, faculty, staff, and instruction.
The VPITSserves as the principal technology leader for the college providing the vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology strategies and initiatives college-wide. The position scope is inclusive of all college divisions. This necessitates a high level of familiarity with the various constituents and a commitment to meeting the diverse information and communications needs that exist across all college departments.
The VPITSis responsible for anticipating and maintaining a vision for the future technology needs at Bellevue College, and for recommending strategies, priorities, and projects that will best achieve the college's strategic goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES
Support the mission, vision, goals and outcome measures of the college. Work effectively with the president, the President's Cabinet, and the ITS management team in strategic planning, policy development, strategic visioning and overseeing the daily operations of information resources. Maintain current in the appropriate use of technologies in both the academic and administrative setting. Provide leadership in planning, purchasing, implementing and managing IT infrastructures that assist and enhance academic and administrative systems. Provide leadership in the training and use of academic and administrative IT systems. Ensure the integrity and security of connections to cloud based servers and networks as well as on campus servers, applications and networking systems. Communicate effectively as an advocate for the use of appropriate technologies within the college, the community, and the community college system. Guide the work of campus technology planning committees to update, implement, and maintain an integrated technology and a disaster recovery plan. Develop and manage the operating budgets of the program to ensure both effective support and oversight of information technology investments in conjunction with college-wide planning processes. Work with the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges with a clear focus on the integration of the new ctcLink system into the college environment Represent the college at the Washington Association of Community and Technical College's (WACTC) Information Technology Commission and other local, state and national organizations. Apply appropriate laws, regulations and requirements that govern the college's use of information technology. Supervise the staff who report directly to the vice president of information technology services, including the directors of technology support services, integration and infrastructure team, IT security, technical support services, digital media services and the staff within the division office. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computing services or related field; or a combination of education and four years' experience as a director of information or technology-related services. Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in information technology including three or more years supervisory and management experience. Broad technical knowledge and skills, with the ability to demonstrate this thorough knowledge and understanding of current computing, telecommunications and emerging technologies. Practical experience with recent developments in campus technology issues, effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate the college's technology needs to both technical and non-technical audiences, a commitment to customer service, and excellent presentation skills. Ability to work effectively in a diverse workplace and educational environment, and commit to pluralism.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master' s degree in business administration, information technology or related field. Experience making appropriate purchasing decisions of IT hardware and software and implementing those technologies. Technical certifications in IT. Five years of experience working in higher education, or related industry. Understanding of rapidly evolving online landscape. Commitment to an atmosphere of transparency and openness within Information Resources and the College in general. Flexible and ability to work comfortably and in a collaborative fashion with faculty to promote appropriate technological innovation. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with an attention to details.
