Position Summary: The University of Idaho invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Theatre in the area(s) of History, Literature, and Criticism to help support the growth of a unique distance-delivered MFA option in the
Department of Theatre Arts. This is a three year appointment, with the possibility of renewal based on the success of the program. We seek applicants who value collegiality and diversity, and who possess a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and the collaborative process of theatre making. The annual load for this position is 2/3 (or its
equivalent), with such primary responsibilities as: teaching courses in the
applicant's area of expertise and interest; overseeing tutorials and/or independent study; assisting in the ongoing management and expansion of the distance-education option; and recruiting, advising, and mentoring MFA candidates.
Terminal degree either the MFA or PhD in area of expertise. Previous experience teaching at the university level in one or more of the following areas: dramatic literature, dramatic theory and criticism, theatre history, and/or dramatic writing.
Experience teaching, mentoring and advising Graduate students Experience delivering course content in a Distance capacity Experience forming key collaborations with professional theatre organizations
