The Department of Education seeks applications for a full-time, tenure track, 9-month. Major responsibilities include advising and teaching pre-service undergraduates and graduate-level K-8 teachers with a focus on early childhood, elementary education middle and secondary school mathematics, maintaining an active research agenda and engaging in service related duties. The successful candidate must demonstrate research interests that include curriculum, assessment, mathematical literacy, use of technology, integrating literature and mathematics, teaching special needs populations, and teaching diverse populations
must possess strong verbal and written skills that will assist the unit in its ongoing accreditation, data collection and reporting processes.
expected to supervise undergraduate student teacher candidates; pursue a focused area of research and scholarship that culminates in publications, professional presentations, and submission of grant proposals; hold active membership in relevant professional associations/organizations; serve on committees; and participate in official activities at the department, college and university levels.
The successful candidate will also possess the dispositions of professionalism, competence, reflection, and the ability to work with diverse populations of students, faculty, and community partners.
This individual must be a team player and adhere to policy, procedures and timelines.
A PhD/EdD in Mathematics OF Mathematics Education from an accredited institution is required.
Candidates who have teacher certification and at least five years of experience teaching in the P-12 setting, at the college/university level
experience teaching online courses preferred.
Candidates must be prepared to teach day as well as evening and weekend classes.
