The University of Washington Medical Center's Heart Institute has an outstanding opening for a full-time, day shift, DEVICE CLINIC SPECIALIST/ARRHYTHMIA TECHNICIAN. The person in this role will be part of the Heart Institute Device Clinic team which is a cross-functional team managing the implanted cardiac devices of 2500+ patients. This management includes remote monitoring and analysis of Pacemakers, ICDs and Implantable Loop Recorders from diverse manufacturers including Abbott (formerly St. Jude), Biotronic, Boston Scientific and Medtronic. Continuing training and education is provided to Device Clinic staff by both Providers and device manufacturers allowing the Device Clinic staff to remain on the cutting edge of the ever-developing implantable device industry. In addition the Device Clinic team performs post implantation device interrogation, manages the non-conditional MRI program, provides in-patient support and provides in-clinic implantable device interrogation and adjustments.RESPONSIBILITIES:Remotely monitor rhythm tracings for patient with implanted cardiac devices via computerComplete basic analysis of tracings and provide preliminary reports to EP Providers for final reportingManage sequence of regular rhythm downloads for assigned patients as well as required in-person follow-up visits Complete scheduling, charting and charge capture processes in EPIC. Perform in-clinic implanted device interrogationPerform in-clinic adjustments to implanted devices under the guidance and orders of an EP ProviderMake regular telephone and/or ECare contact with Device Clinic patients for the purpose of remote care, monitoring and management of the Device Clinic patient populationPerform other duties as requiredThis position provides opportunities to work in a fast-paced, challenging, diverse and rewarding environment. For detailed information on Benefits for this position, click here.REQUIREMENTS:High school graduation or equivalent AND certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation OR completion of training and certified in CPR within 4 months from date of hireORequivalent education/experience.DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:One year of experience as an ECG Technician I OR Telemetry Tech OR Medical Assistant in an Electrophysiology Practice or Clinic or Laboratory AND certified by the National Alliance of Cardiovascular Technologists OR certified as a Certified Medical Assistant OR certified within one year from date of hire.
