Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a full-time Director of Administrative Information Systems with the Gustavus Technology Services.
Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in Saint Peter, Minn., that prepares over 2,200 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning. The position serves as the leader of a dynamic team that supports the College’s Enterprise Resource Planning/Student Information System (ERP/SIS), Colleague (Ellucian), and manages technical projects that advance important administrative and academic functions. Working with stakeholders, this individual would guide, develop, and implement creative solutions to address identified business requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor a small but critical team
Provide vision, leadership, and direction for the campus ERP system
Set and meet goals that move key department and College priorities forward
Develop and generate reports that support various functions and assist with data-driven decision-making
Monitor application integrity and ensure data accuracy and synchronization between various systems and departments
Work with users in identifying and resolving problems, determining better solutions and/or business processes
Design, program, test, and document solutions that meet the College’s business requirements
Assist with testing and implementing Ellucian software, updates, and custom programs
Rigorously apply internal methodologies and policies to ensure high-quality work
Work with users in testing and implementing software changes and upgrades
Provide end-user training to help offices continually improve their ability to work with enterprise systems
Work collaboratively and supportively in a challenging and rewarding team-based environment
All other duties as assigned
Proven leadership skills or prior supervisory experience
Experience with knowledge management and documentation
Demonstrated experience with complex database systems and query languages
Prior experience configuring, managing, and monitoring a database infrastructure in a mid-to-large environment
General familiarity with UNIX and Windows operating systems
Experience working with Web APIs, .NET development, and Microsoft Visual Studio
Experience with multi-valued databases, Unidata, Ellucian Colleague, Entrinsik Informer, Scripting Languages, Web Development, or SQL a plus
Excellent organizational abilities and a willingness/ability to take the initiative, follow-through to completion, and be detail-oriented
The ability to provide superior customer service and support
Must be able to work with people with varying degrees of technical experience and knowledge
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently in diagnosing problems and providing solutions to difficult problems in complex, fast-paced situations
Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related program or relevant work experience
Experience with Ellucian Colleague
Knowledge of higher education systems and processes
