Preference will be given to candidates with healthcare experience, including HL7 interfaces and Laboratory Information Systems. A background in laboratories is highly valuable. This position will have responsibilities split between administering our clinical databases, maintaining custom code, and supporting our interfaces to instruments and enterprise systems. We are looking for an excellent team player who is enthusiastic about customer service and can contribute to a collaborative and collegial environment. The successful candidate will be a skilled DBA and programmer able to create & maintain clinical database applications for the Anatomic Pathology department through the School of Medicine. Our work supports users UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required. 2+ years of SQL Server Admin experience (2000 Enterprise & 2008 preferred). 3+ years of experience with T-SQL; knowledge SQL jobs & stored procedures. Desired: Experience with HL7 Interfaces - ADT, Billing, and Orders. Laboratory Information System experience a plus, especially with PowerPath 2000, our department's main LIS. Experience working in a health care environment with appreciation of the requirements for patient privacy and confidentiality. Experiences developing and supporting Access Projects (SQL Server back-end) applications. Visual Basic a plus, especially with add-ins for Microsoft Word.
