The position will focus on outward-facing relationships between the UMSL Computer Education & Training Center (CETC) and corporate partners and customers. The Account Manager is responsible for promoting the marketable aspects of UMSL CETC in ways that resonate with stakeholders; potential/current students, customers, faculty, and staff. The position will meet with local corporate representatives for the purpose of identifying avenues for corporate engagement and arranging training programs that support CETC. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Makes sales calls to corporate customers
Identifies and targets new prospects
Expands existing customer base
Builds trust and educates customers
Identifies customer needs and wants, gathers feedback from customers
Negotiates and closes the sale
Prepares sales data analytics and other financial reports
Prepares training contracts and related sales agreements
Submits project documentation on a timely basis
Creates sales strategies for CETC
Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives, and meet deadlines in accordance with established priorities, timelines, and budgets
Manages the marketing of programs to potential and existing clients, including to corporations, nonprofits, and area agencies
Promotes CETC programs and services and provides course advice to customers
Develops training programs for customers, evaluate its effectiveness, and makes necessary updates to ensure courses are meeting customer's objectives and purpose
Partners with the CETC team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with training programs
Defines, develops, maintains, and enforces documented sales processes, procedures, and practices
Collaborates with internal customers and researches industry trends to deliver effective training
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least four years of successful sales experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Must have an understanding of and appreciation for diverse populations/settings.
Excellent written and verbal skills are essential, with the ability to deliver articulate and engaging presentations.
