This staff member will perform various housekeeping, custodial, and maintenance related tasks at the Olympic Natural Resources Center(ONRC). This staff member performs various housekeeping, custodial, and maintenance related tasks at ONRC.Typical Work: *Clean and sanitize restrooms/shower rooms and fixtures in accordance with established procedures and standards; refill restroom dispensers;*Perform cleaning activity in ONRC Conference Rooms and lodging rooms including vacuuming, mopping, changing and make beds, and cleaning apartment and communal kitchen units;*May wash interior or easily accessible exterior windows;*Follow written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, supplies and equipment; comply with safety policies and procedures;*Report need for repair and/or maintenance;*Paints small offices, latrines, kitchens, classrooms;*Makes rounds, locking doors, closing and locking windows, turning off lights and replacing burned out light bulbs; turns air conditioning and other equipment on and off; report unauthorized occupants;*Moves furniture and equipment; arranges tables and chairs for special events; collects and disposes of garbage and trash; shovels snow and sweeps and washes sidewalks on an emergency basis; does occasional yard and garden chores such as mowing, weeding or raking leaves and debris;Desirable Qualifications: The ability to do required work and the ability to read and writeANDSix months to one-year experience in custodial, housekeeping, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping*Note: A valid Washington state driver's license may be required.Application Process:The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
