Advises Student Support Services (SSS) participants on academic, educational, career, and personal topics; assists participants with financial aid, scholarship and graduate school forms and applications; assesses academic, personal, and career needs of assigned participants; teaches a section of Strategies for Academic Success (SAS); designs course curriculum and collaborates with other SAS instructors to develop learning outcomes and assessment tools; completes documentation and maintains up-to-date records on individual services provided to program participants; collaborates with Director and other staff in program planning and implementation; plans and presents or facilitates workshops on a variety of academic, career, and financial literacy topics; and assists with writing of five-year grant proposal.
Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, counseling, social work, psychology or related field; at least one year of experience in counseling or advising students at the college or university level; strong organizational skills; experience working with underrepresented populations; and a commitment to student success required. Student experience will be considered. Master’s degree in college student affairs and experience working with TRIO programs preferred.
