Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Data Manager will be responsible for the development of the RedCap database collection tool and quality of data collection to be used in a multicenter study in sickle cell disease.
Responsible for database management- quality control, data merging, data cleaning. Responsible for design of analytic methods, in conjunction with the PI and lead investigators, and for execution of data analyses. Formulates, implements and enforces proper data collection policies and procedures. Establishes data quality standards and ensures these are met at all sites. Trains and educates all sites on data collection tools. Attends and participates in team meetings, in-services and external trainings, workshops, conferences, and other relevant programs for growth and development. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a team including the Principal Investigator, other lead investigators and other staff members. Strong organizational skills. A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to function independently.
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required.
Three years experience.
Experience with statistical analysis programs, preferably Stata or SAS, is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Experience working with electronic database such as Recap and/or SQL preferred.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Proficiency in the use of common software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing required. Excellent organizational skills required. Excellent attention to detail skills required. Must have ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
Must have excellent time management skills. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently. The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to work well with other professionals with minimal supervision, and be comfortable being part of a diverse professional team.
Technical qualifications or specialized certifications:
Required: All IRB-required courses must be completed and appropriate exams passed with necessary certification within 2 weeks of start date.

Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
