Foster School of Business has an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Director of MBA Admissions.The Associate Director of MBA Admissions supports the Sr. Associate Director and the MBA Admissions Director in executing the MBA admissions and recruitment process to enroll diverse cohorts of highly qualified students in the Full Time MBA and part time Evening MBA programs. The Associate Director provides insight on marketing and recruitment strategy, including creating and administering on-site and off-site recruiting events and programs for the Full-time MBA and Evening MBA, creating and executing marketing e-mail campaigns and overseeing the involvement of current students and alumni in our MBA recruitment efforts. This role also conducts interviews of students, and is part of the leadership team that evaluates candidates and makes admission decisions of applicants into the MBA Programs. The Associate Director of MBA Admissions reports to the MBA Director of Admissions.RESPONSIBILITIESTravel extensively both domestically and internationally to represent the Foster MBA programs at recruiting events worldwide. Review and evaluate effectiveness of recruiting methods being used in particular regions and provide strategic ideas and recommendations for future recruiting efforts. Interact with prospective students, respond to their individual level of MBA readiness, respond to questions and providing counseling on the Foster MBA Program and the application process. Research locations around the world and make recommendations on how to best reach prospective student populations. Develop and administer programming and presentations for these events in-person or remotely, and establish connections with local organizations to aid in hosting and attracting attendees. Plan and execute large-scale events for the Full-time MBA and Evening MBA, including marketing efforts, planning the event schedule, communicating with attendees, delegating event-related projects to other staff and coordinating current student volunteers. This includes multiple events aimed at prospective student audiences and designed to grow the applicant pipeline, events that evaluate candidates, as well as events for admitted students aimed at increasing admitted student yield. Evaluate effectiveness of events in their ability to draw quality candidates to the MBA programs and make recommendations for future events.Evaluate candidates for admission to the Full-time and Evening MBA programs by providing detailed written summaries based on submitted applications. Conduct admission interviews both in-person and via webcam and provide written evaluations of the interviews for use in the final decision-making process. These interviews will be conducted on campus, via webcam and on the road in cities around the world. Each year we interview around half of our total applicant pool.Manage the MBA Ambassador Program to foster connections between prospective students and current students. Hire, train and supervise two current MBA students to work part-time as Ambassador Program Coordinators who arrange class visits and assist with prospective student events. Market the Ambassador program to prospective students as a way to connect with the school, and to current students as a way to share the Foster MBA brand and give back to the school. Manage the Alumni Ambassador Program, designed to foster connections between prospective students and alumni around the world. Hire, train and supervise one current MBA student to assist in developing and implementing the program and recruiting alumni to participate.Provide feedback and direction on the website and print materials on overall effectiveness in relaying the Foster MBA brand. Offer recommendations and direction on how the website might best relay our brand to potential candidates and address their most commonly asked questions. Suggest written content and recording videos to be used on the site.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related field of study. At least five years experience in university student services or education field, preferably with experience in admissions and preferably with graduate students.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to persuasively articulate the value of the graduate management education to prospective applicants.Excellent interpersonal skills and proven success working in a highly collaborative professional environment.Strong technological savvy and a high level of proficiency with the MS Office Suite and CRM systems.DESIREDGraduate degree: MBA or MA in counseling, education or related area of studyExperience in business or with business graduate students WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThe Associate Director must offer quick follow-up to inquiries via e-mail and phone, must be available to travel domestically and internationally, and must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.Application Process:The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
