The Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington invites applications for up to six Lecturers Part-Time (formerly Lecturer, Part-time, Competitive Recruitment, non-tenure). The positions will be have a 9-month appointment to start September 2019 with an anticipated 1-2 year initial contract with the possibility of renewal. Compensation will be commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and experience.
The positions include teaching approximately six class sections per year in the Engineering Communication Program, with an emphasis on undergraduate courses related to communication and writing taught through the lens of sustainability and ethics. More than one applicant may be hired. The anticipated course load includes sections of introductory and/or advanced communication courses each academic quarter (Autumn, Winter, and Spring). Experience working with English Language Learners is a plus.
