About the Position
In this position you will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment and admissions process for Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Washington University.
Upholding the college’s mission and goals, this position actively works to provide access and support to a diverse study body by fostering and strengthening relationships with diverse student populations and communities.
Typical duties include:
Coordination, planning and execution of all college recruitment activities, including recruitment travel
Facilitating workshops, information sessions and other public presentations to prospective students, families and community groups
Social Media and material production
Managing college admissions enrollment process, including evaluation of student applications through interviewing and application review to determine qualifications and admissibility
Maintains inquiry, applicant and admission data and provides regular analysis and reporting.
This is a full-time, 12-month position that includes regular regional travel, primarily within the state of Washington, and includes some evening and weekend hours.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, written communication and public presentation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and commitment to areas of diversity, inclusion, and equity.
Direct student services, counseling, or academic advising experience.
Display strong planning and organizing skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce desired results
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a strong collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Availability and willingness for regional recruitment and outreach travel.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Master’s degree in student affairs, adult education or equivalent
Bilingual ability (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin, etc.)
Knowledge and/or experience with interdisciplinary, student-centered, alternative academic programs.
Experience in college or university admissions and recruitment.
Experience collaborating with faculty and/or university administration.
Experience organizing and developing recruitment and/or orientation events.
Experience with Banner, student information systems, NolijWeb or other document management systems
Starting salary range is $39,466-$43,851 commensurate with experience; includes an excellent benefits package.
