Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under limited supervision, this position will take an active role in all aspects of the Center for Teaching Excellence, but will particularly contribute to the CTE’s commitment to support strategic online and hybrid course development, as well as to support holistic faculty development through inclusive and equitable teaching that helps the diversity of LMU students to thrive.
Typically a Master's degree or equivalent experience.
Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of trends in faculty development.
Minimum 3 years of experience with learning environments, research and/or training, curriculum/instructional design, preferable at the university level.
Strong candidates will have experience working with faculty on development of curriculum and best-practices in teaching and learning.
Demonstrated knowledge of teaching and learning practices as well as experience working with technology and in modern learning environments. Knowledge of instructional design principles and best practices in online learning.
Ability to develop workshops, trainings and other professional development sessions for faculty.
Extensive knowledge and experience promoting effective use of learning management systems (Brightspace) and instructional technologies in higher education.
Have a working knowledge of media delivery formats including streaming video, animation, and their integration into a learning management system. Experience in content authoring tools, software development, graphic or usability design and College level teaching experience is preferred.
Exceptional written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Must be flexible and adapt to change easily; must be able to work independently and as a team member; must have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
