Sponsored Programs Administrator Senior - Office of Sponsored Programs 12594
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Sponsored Programs Administrator Senior. The OSP is the central administrative unit charged with providing support to the WVU community in the solicitation, acquisition and administration of externally funded projects for research, teaching, and service. This position is responsible for the review and initiation of awards received by the University from federal, state, or private funding entities.
In order to be successful the ideal candidate will:
Initiate the establishment of a funded project in the University's financial system (MAP), specifically the Oracle Grants Accounting (OGA) module.
Provide professional and technical expertise in the administration of awarded projects to faculty, departments, expert business office, deans and central administration.
Evaluate each award document, identifies any special concerns or potential problems which may affect project performance and initiate resolution of these issues.
Determine any variance in award document from the submitted proposal (e.g., terms and conditions, revised budgets, budget discrepancies, and cost sharing requirements) and take action to resolve such conflicts.
Serve as liaison between the agency's administrative office(s) and faculty member(s) to assist in solving any potential problems.
Analyze award documents for various project performance requirements and ensures appropriate reference and incorporation into the University's/Research Corporation's notice of grant award as placed in OGA (i.e. special reporting requirements, special indirect costs rate, special terms and conditions, restrictions, etc.).
Ensure federal and institutional compliance requirements are approved prior to issuance of an internal award notification.
Responsible for the processing of a sponsored project in the University's and WVU Research Office financial system (MAP).
Ascertain by personal discussions with sponsor representative(s), information necessary for verbal approval of a specific project where the official award document has been delayed.
Advise faculty member(s), staff, and sponsoring agencies concerning the pre-award and post-award aspects of the office.
Act as a point of contact for many agency representatives, faculty and staff, particularly in respect to the administrative functions of the WVU Research Office and its guidelines and procedures.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Public Administration or related field.
Two (2) years Pre- or Post-award experience in a higher education environment preferred (this must include proposal development and/or award management).
One (1) year experience developing, maintaining, and using Database and Computer software packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) required.
MAP experience preferred.
Working knowledge of grants and contracts in a higher education environment.
Working knowledge of OMB (Office of Management and Budget) Uniform Guidance; 2 CFR 200.
General knowledge of grant and contract terms and conditions.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, high-volume environment and meet deadlines.
