This position will develop and implement fundraising strategies and activities to carry forward the mission and vision of Augsburg University. Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts prospects to align benefactor interests with the strategic objectives of the College. Manage a discovery portfolio of approximately 150 prospects with a primary focus of qualifying and closing gifts of $25,000 or more. This position requires the ability to travel on all modes of transportation, up to 20% of the time.
Adhere to the "Donor Bill of Rights" and ethical standards set forth for the division and the institution.
Utilize both current and planned gift opportunities to best meet donors' needs, interests, and financial capabilities.
Design and implement customized solicitation strategies with cross-campus partners.
Maintain up-to-date donor records.
All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Experience in development and fundraising preferred.
Must be a self-motivated, self-directed and highly organized individual who will promote a productive, collegial workplace and be a professional ambassador for Augsburg College.
Belief in the mission and strong ethical conduct is essential.
Requires excellent oral and written communications skills, a broad-based knowledge of fund development and the ability to work in a complex environment with multi-dimensional points of view.
Must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork.
Must be comfortable with ambiguity.
Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.
Must be proficient in the use of information technology and management of database systems.
Typical work environment is an office, working at a desk for long periods of time.
This position requires the flexibility to work weekends and evenings when necessary.
This position requires the ability to travel on all modes of transportation, up to 20% of the time.
