The Temporary Academic Advisor will work closely with professional staff to empower students to be successful and stay on track academically by teaching students how to use online advising tools together with college services and resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drop-in sessions for student advising regarding schedule planning, registration information and coaching students in creating goals toward graduation
Assist in updating academic advising web presence
Fulfill administrative tasks under academic advising leadership. This may include managing calendars, organizing documents, revision of/or updating academic advising web materials and participating in workshops and programming
Bachelor's degree required
Strong professional interest in the field of academic advising or student success
Strong oral and written communication skills
Robust technology knowledge background preferred
Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Curiosity and familiarity with emerging trends and best practices in higher education and academic advising
Must be able to work 20-25 hours per week
