UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a PER DIEM/TEMPORARY VARIABLE DAYS, ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN. The Anesthesia Technician provides technical and clinical assistance, under the direction of an anesthesiologist, in monitoring and preparing the patient for anesthesia, within the Operating Room and/or in other departments within the hospital.
Assists the Anesthesiologist with intubation and extubation
Assists with placements of invasive lines
Sets up cell savers
Assists with positioning patients during regional blocks
Prepares and operates anesthesia equipment such as blood gas analyzers, patient monitors, and ventilators. Plugs in gases and scavenging. Places clean CO2 tubing on CO2 monitors. Calibrates O2 sensors.
Coordinates anesthesia equipment and supplies
Coordinates and collaborates effectively with other members of a multi-disciplinary team, including MDs, RNs, and other medical support personnel
High school diploma or GED
At least one year experience in a related operating room or healthcare position
